Syd grew up on a cattle ranch and loved listening to the radio while farming and ranching as a kid.  This love of radio led to degrees from Dickinson State College and Brown Institute in Minneapolis.  Syd attended various advancement classes at the University of Minnesota and Bismarck State College as well.  With a first class FCC license in hand Syd gained experience in Television, an advertising agency, theatre production and sound and radio.  He has worked on air as a TV anchor person, TV control operator, radio news man, on air radio personality, copy writer, seller, sales manager and market manager.  Married with two grown daughters Syd continues to be involved in the community and the state as a board member for the North Dakota Broadcasters Association, The Chamber’s Junior Achievement, Chamber Ag committee, and advisory board of the Burleigh County Extension Service.  Syd has been a member of the Optimist Club of Bismarck since 1979.  A lover of the outdoors, Syd enjoys motorcycling, boating and hunting.  In the electronic media business since 1974 Syd would enjoy very much sharing his love of radio with you.

Bill is a marketing veteran in the Bismarck area with nearly two decades in media sales, including seven years with Cumulus Radio and eleven years with newspaper. Promoted to sales manager in August 2006, Bill is a detail and organizational freak, with a passion for creative script writing and branding. He believes the most important element of any advertising campaign is the message. Bill has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management, and was named the Cumulus AE of the Month nationwide in July 2005. Active in the Bismarck Mandan Home Builders Association and the Bismarck Mandan Y’s Men’s Club, Bill uses his marketing experience to help move these organizations forward and network with members. Bill, and his wife of 24 years enjoy spending time at the lake, and he is a avid stand up jet skier with a full arsenal of freestyle tricks.

Travis Wipperling joined the Cumulus team in 2002, bringing several years of retail sales experience with him.  Being in the retail business he understands how positioning products can help a business grow to new levels.  He feels this gives him the leading edge on creating effective marketing campaigns that work for his clients.  Throughout Travis’s career he has successfully built strong client relationships and has learned that asking the tough questions gives him the ability to use his creative side to get the job done.  Travis holds a Bachelors Degree in Business from the University of Mary. Travis is an active member in the ND Broadcasters Association, Mandan Progress Organization, he’s a Board of Director of the Bismarck Downtowners Association and involved with his local church. In his spare time Travis enjoys spending time at his lake home, snowmobiling, hunting, landscaping, wakeboarding and spending time with his wife and two sons.

Kipp grew up in the small North Dakota town of Napoleon.  After graduating from Napoleon High School, he moved to Fargo where he received his degree in Recreation Management from North Dakota State University.  He spent six years and many long nights in the bar/restaurant industry, before making the move to Bismarck, ND.  He joined the Cumulus Bismarck team in January of 2009.  Kipp prides himself in his work ethic and his down-to-earth approach with people.  He enjoys all sports and loves playing poker in his spare time.

Rachael grew up in a small town outside if Bismarck. With four sisters and a brother there was never a dull moment. Its no wonder the fast pace of Media and sales interested her. She started her career in Sales 1998 in beautiful Alabama.  After a few years, she decided to move back to her home state of North Dakota. I know what your wondering, Why? It’s cold there. Oh, the crazy things you do for family.  She worked for some good companies before finding her way to Cumulus in 2007. Again, she would say there is never a dull moment.   She has two daughters and an active little boy to keep her busy. In her spare time, if there is any, she enjoys the outdoors, from riding horses to snow skiing.

Jason attended the University of Mary and has a background in Physical Education and History. With  over eight years of Coaching local 7 year old kids to currently coaching BSC Men’s Soccer Program, he knows how much time and effort it takes to understand ones business. Jason knows what it takes to be successful in the radio industry with creative ideas for business and the willingness to put a strong effort into a marketing plan that will fit local business needs.  He loves sports including Basketball, Football, and Track, but with his 5ft 6in body frame Jason decided to focus on Wrestling and Soccer where he ultimately became Mr. Soccer of ND and was 4x All–American at the University of Mary. Jason also loves outdoor activities – Golf, Softball, Hunting and, of course, lounging on the pontoon with his wife Rheannon and his daughter Johanna.

Kelly Bengtson has joined Cumulus Broadcasting of Bismarck Mandan, ND, as a sales consultant for their five radio stations. A native of Glenburn, Bengtson previously worked in government, was a grant writer for a time and has assisted with a family owned construction business for the past eight years. Kelly is looking forward to working with area businesses to provide assistance with advertising opportunities.

Jessica Nies is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Moorhead where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts.  Jessica comes to us from the health and fitness industry, acting as a weight loss counselor and sales associate.  Jessica has worked as a free lance photographer and enjoys competitive body building. 

Kent Anderson has recently been hired by Cumulus Broadcasting as an Account Manager. He is a Bismarck native and studied Business Administration at the University of Mary where he will receive his M.B.A. this spring. He has experience working with local businesses conducting marketing audits for them. Kent is an active member in the church community.

Shawna Hastings has joined the Sales team of Cumulus Broadcasting.  Shawna is a native of Williston. With 11 years of sales, marking and business management experience she will be responsible for bringing customers and businesses together. Shawna will be an Account Manager for Cumulus Broadcasting's five radio stations.
